Unpopular Opinion: Is There Really a Worthy Competitor to President Ruto in 2027

Unpopular Opinion: Is There Really a Worthy Competitor to President Ruto in 2027

Let’s talk—real talk. With all due respect to Kenya’s political class, who exactly is ready to take on President William Ruto in the next general election? Because, truth be told, I haven’t seen a single formidable opponent so far.

Unpopular opinion? Maybe. But let’s be honest for a minute.

The reality on the ground? Ruto is playing 4D chess while the rest are stuck debating checkers. He’s always ten steps ahead, and love him or hate him, you can’t ignore his political game.

Now hear me out:

We might just as well convince Baba—Raila Odinga—to pull that last, final bullet and make one more run. And honestly, he might actually do it!
But even then, can he really topple a sitting president with full machinery and a divided opposition?

Let’s analyze the alternatives:

  • Matiang’i? Some say they’d rather vote for Ruto.
  • Okiya Omtatah or Maraga? Smart, yes. But termed "too soft."
  • Kalonzo? Many argue Wamunyoro is simply giving him false hope.

So, who’s left?

We keep shouting unity, but let’s not forget: 1,000 sheep can’t beat one lion unless they have unity of purpose. And sadly, we haven’t seen that from the opposition.

Bottom Line:
Whomever you decide to vote for, just know Baba Raila will probably still have a seat at the table—whether on the ballot or in the government.

What do YOU think? Drop your thoughts in the comments—who has the guts, the plan, and the popularity to face Ruto in 2027?
Let’s debate—respectfully!

WHEN YOU HEAR that mla nawe hafi nawe . . .you better pause and ponder and take that Swahili saying rather seriously.

This is top socialite play boy and and once  moneyed Jowie alone with his mother in court. Alone! Yes!

In his hey days he wined and dined with noisy friends in Nairobi's high end joints where money talks and good time roll.

Wherever he went; a gang of flashy attired young men and women followed him painting the city red.

Long story short: where are the friends now? Why did the partying stop now? Your guess is good as mine.

Sometimes we dedicate immense time and money for people who will never be there when u need them most.

They are called fair weather friends who only appear when it's convenient. When things go south, well, they disappear.

Such fellows are many and are like shadows. Only present on your sunny side of life. When darkness comes, they are nowhere to be seen.

This in no way means I'm belittling friends. Far from it. In fact sometimes genuine friends can cover your back more than family. Genuine....not fake.

We learn everyday. Mothers rarely abandon their children. Hats off to all mothers who go flat out to fend for family in the best and worst of times.

Happy International Women's Day to all great women gone or alive. Because of your incredible efforts families thrive.
